Sorry, A. Here Are 10 Reasons Chris Wood Should’ve Won #ChoiceTVVillain at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards

So the 2015 Teen Choice Awards happened and, per usual, provided us with a fun reprieve from all the usual dull summer programming. However, that’s not to say we’re in a completely chipper mood today. You see, although we’re stoked that Nina Dobrev won a surfboard for her memorable portrayal of Elena Gilbert (as did Delena for Choice TV Lip Lock), we are kind of surprised by the outcome for Choice TV Villain. Kai Parker was robbed — ROBBED — we daresay!

We don’t know about you, but we truly believed deep in our hearts that Chris Wood would ride off into the sunset with this one. He delivered a thunderous performance as the great and powerful Malachi — the most notorious “Big Bad” Mystic Falls has seen since Klaus Mikaelson wreaked havoc on the town’s unsuspecting residents many moons ago — and left many viewers drowning in a deluge of their own tears at the end of the Vampire Diaries Season 6 finale. Nevertheless, much to our dismay, it appears none of that mattered considering how Pretty Little Liars‘ “A” snatched the title of this year’s most nefarious character right out of the brutish witch’s hands.

Don’t get us wrong; we love us some PLL! But let’s be real: As malicious and vengeful as Rosewood’s black-hooded tormentor is, she has nothing on Malachi’s twisted sense of crime and punishment. Yes, this is the TCAs we’re ranting about — not a Nobel Peace Prize symposium — but we can’t help ourselves: Kai is obviously the better villain of the two! And to prove our point, here are ten reasons he is the absolute worst in the best possible way:

1. Kai is a straight-up sociopath. The writers never made any excuses for wicked behavior. As for A, we were basically shown scene after scene of her upbringing in order to make us empathize with her woes. Sorry, but a solid villain never needs our pity. People love to hate on him and it’s totally okay to do.

2. Kai eats jam with his fingers. And not just any fingers — we’re talking about dirty, sticky digits that have not been washed. ‘Are there no spoons available?’ you might find yourself asking. And our response will always be, “Why, yes, there are — but he likes to mark his territory with germs.” Meanwhile, A is sipping on top-notch whiskey and using a fork and knife to carve into a tender roasted chicken.

3. Kai killed his entire family because he pretty much hated them for existing; oh, and he wanted to better his chances in his family’s traditional twin merge and rule over their coven. As for A? The biotch (allegedly) loves Jason and Alison DiLaurentis to a fault, and only attacked them to cast suspicion off of her during the investigation.

4. You know what’s another sign of a true villain? He doesn’t need to tuck his face behind Death Eater-inspired attire to instill fear in people’s hearts. Nope, a cheerful rainbow shirt would do just fine.

5. Kai was so vicious that he pushed the very selfless and sweet Bonnie Bennett past her breaking point. After he shot her with an arrow, stalked her wounded self around a 1994 prison world, choked her, abducted her, stole her magic, forced her to listen to his psychotic ramblings over a gross spaghetti Thanksgiving dinner, and then betrayed her trust once again by driving a knife into her back, she said enough is enough yo. Anxious to protect herself, she devised a plan of revenge that involved her stabbing him in the back and leaving him to rot in a snowy 1904 prison world. As for A, she hurt the Liars numerous times; but apparently they felt so bad for her that they forgave her transgressions — enough so that they convinced her not to leap of the roof of a local building.

6. His list of dastardly deeds is basically a long-ass scroll at this point. Including everything we’ve mentioned above, he at one point kidnapped Elena (thus preventing a Delena mistletoe kiss from happening) and tortured her just to pretend that he’s practicing for his OWLS at Hogwarts. He also gave the new Mystic Grill owner a heart attack and found the poor guy’s pain as funny as we would an episode of Arrested Development (the older seasons, of course).

He then posed as a wounded patient in the ER — you know, after murdering an innocent man — to creep on his sister. Ugh, and he freakin’ smeared blood all over his face for good measure (or for some laughs — who the heck knows).

Then, upon siphoning the power from the Traveler’s anti-magic border, he used his new-found strength to fling Alaric and Damon against trees like rag dolls.

Oh, and this one time — you guys are seriously going to LOL over this beautiful tale of love and compassion — he strangled a taxi driver with a pair of headphones because he didn’t have enough cash to pay for his fare.

As for abducting a bunch of girls, coercing them to partake a series of frightening psychological games, and surgically placing trackers inside their necks? Yes, it’s a downright horrific scenario; but compared to Kai’s bloody tactics, making someone plan an almost deadly prom is mere child’s play.

7. His very own flesh and blood thought he was so out of control they banished to him to another dimension.

He’s referred to himself as the devil and seemed really pleased with likening himself to the ruler of all things evil.

8. He feels nothing aside from constant murderous rage. One time, after absorbing some of his younger brother’s likeable qualities during a twin merge, he teared up and starting freaking out about all the wet drops emerging from his eye. That didn’t last too long, though.

He literally has zero chill and zero emotions, just like any proper sadistic malefactor would. While A is busy mailing weird gifts and sending pun-filled text threats, Kai focuses on his twitter account where he likes to post his innermost disturbing thoughts. Ruthless and mesmerizing, all at the same time:

9. In case anyone needs a friendly reminder as to how diabolical Kai legitimately is, please remember that he murdered the following people on the day of his sister Jo’s wedding to Alaric Saltzman: his sister, her unborn twins, and the entire Gemini coven. Oh, and let’s not forget about the cruel spell that he placed on Bonnie, binding her life to Elena’s and rigging it so that the only way the comatose beauty could be awakened by her magically-induced slumber, is by removing Bon Bon from the equation. Ergo, not only did he crash someone’s expensive wedding but he also destroyed plenty of innocent lives in the process — including Ric’s and Tyler’s. Meanwhile, in the PLL summer finale, A was busy coughing up excuses as to how she may have committed some terrible crimes, but murder was never one of them.

10. Last but not least, Kai isn’t even a mere villain. To refer to him as such is offensive to cold-hearted fiends everywhere. He happens to be a super villain, one who — if the Other Side still existed on TVD — would surely find his way back to unleash more terror on earth.
